What exactly is FIRST?

FIRST is a global youth organization focused on empowering everyone with the skills it takes to succeed. Teams associated with FIRST work to make access to STEM topics and soft skills more accessible to all people.The Nerds of Prey are no different. As a member of FIRST, it is our mission to collaborate with as many people as possible and spread the values of FIRST. We engage in local events, communicate with local officials, and run STEM programs for the youth.

What is FRC?

FRC stands for FIRST Robotics Competition, a yearly tournament where students design a robot to compete in a game. In early January, the organization hosts kickoff, a worldwide livestream with the release of a game with rules and tasks.During March and April, multi-day regionals are held where teams meet and compete the robot they've designed. Those who perform best will receive an invitation to the World Championships.4065 competes in FRC, attending 2-3 regionals each year consistently as one of Florida's highest scoring teams.
